WELCOME:
It is a pleasure to introduce to you our very own classroom web page. This is an exciting opportunity for the both the students and me to give you a sneak peak of what's happening in Room B2.
I hope you will take the time to visit our web page often to check out some of the activities we have been doing, as well as, get any information, special dates, homework assignments, and other important news or tidbits that night be of help to you.
I'll do my best (as I continue to learn) to keep our web page updated and get pictures of the kids and some of their work on the site for you to see.
I welcome any suggestions you may have of things that you would like to see on our web page. Please feel free to email me or just stop in the classroom to share your comments.
A LOOK AT OUR WEEK:
Our class will be participating in the The Great Mail Race. This is a chance to learn about what other second graders around the USA are doing where they live. We will be sending a letter and a survey to another second grade class in all 50 states across the country in hopes that they will all write to us so that we may learn more about them and their state. We will be keeping track of our "Pals by Mail" on an interactive map of the USA located on the bulletin board outside our room. Stop by and check it out.
We will also continue our unit study of weather and the water cycle. The students are learning to read a thermometer and report the weather. They are also identifying kinds of clouds and the weather they bring.
In math students are practicing two-digit addition with regrouping. WOW, are they doing great!
Next up... two-digit subtraction with regrouping. Keep practicing those basic facts.
